More Information

Description

We have for sale perhaps one the nicest 190sl roadsters in the country. Built in July 1960, this properly sourced and meticulously restored Sport-Leicht was part of a six year 100% complete restoration. From the mid 1980's till 2010 the car was used as a daily driver and maintained by the legendary Bruce Adams. After the car traded hands in 2010, it was taken to 190sl Specialties in North Carolina to commence what would be a lengthy "nut and bolt" restoration. The matching numbers engine was sent to Metric Motors for a complete rebuild. Gear box and rear axle were broken down and rebuilt as per factory specifications. All the bright work was done by Paul's Chrome. The blue (979) leather interior was done by Heritage Upholstery, gauges by North Hollywood Speedometer and Clock, paint by Bert McBride and the radio was refurbished by Becker in New Jersey. All hardware, seals and trim parts were sourced from the MB Classic Center or SL Autohaus. The paint is DB180 aka Silver Grey Metallic with the proper smaller metal flake as per European spec. A complete hard top painted to match comes with the car. A remarkable example of the w121 with an optional and rare kinder seat and only 23 miles after restoration. From the underbody colors to the inside of the bumpers, everything about this car is correct. The owner's goal was to build as factory correct car worthy of the highest markings. While the market on these legendary cars has fluctuated over the last few years, it is clear that the best example still bring top dollar. This car is aggressively priced below market value at $172,000. Similar cars are selling for $235k just across the pond. Call for more information. 561-248-5657
